Emanuel Fohn (1881–1966) was an Austrian painter, restorer, and art collector whose work primarily encompassed landscapes and vedute. Numerous travels, particularly to Italy, shaped his repertoire of subjects. In Venezia Piazzetta, his loose, impressionistically influenced style of painting is evident: bright colours, simplified forms, and a free, expressive brushwork convey less topographical accuracy than the distinctive light and atmosphere of Venice.
