Egon Hofmann was an important Austrian painter and graphic artist of Classical Modernism. His work is characterized by clear, geometric forms, a reduced visual language, and a rigorous compositional structure. He frequently focused on mountain and landscape motifs, which also play an important role in his woodcuts and drypoint etchings. In addition, he created vividly colored landscapes, still lifes, and depictions of his travels.
