Christian Ludwig Attersee successfully completed his painting studies with Eduard Bäumer in 1963. While he initially devoted himself to object and action art, drawings and panel paintings on the themes of sexuality and the experience of nature later became characteristic of his work. Bright colours, dynamic brushwork and figurative, often symbolic depictions characterise his works. Subtle associations and imaginative, narrative aspects flow into his paintings. Attersee appears as a poet rich in associations and, as it were, as a tightrope walker between fantasy and reality, who in his ultimately quite critical, collectively binding drawings and paintings touches on conditions and symptoms that we have to deal with every day.
